Ultra Wide Band Systems Engineer
The Wireless Connectivity Team is seeking a UWB communication systems engineer
to conduct physical layer system and algorithm design, prototyping and standardization
of UWB (ultra-wideband) technologies for wireless home networking. The ideal
candidate will design and develop system architecture and algorithms for
the upcoming IEEE 802.15.3a standard to support A/V streaming. Design, analyze
and simulate complex synchronization, coding, and modulation schemes for
UWB systems. Design and build UWB prototypes. And finally, Contribute to
the UWB standardization activities and establish solid connection with leading
companies in IEEE 802.15/11. The candidate should possess at minimum a MSEE
(or equivalent), preferably a PhD, in wireless communications, and at least
three years of relevant experience in UWB or IEEE 802.11/15 standards. The
candidate should have a strong understanding and knowledge of wireless communications,
signal processing and coding theory. He/she should have a working knowledge
of RF, analog, digital and wireless technologies and possess a good understanding
of channel modeling and link budget analysis. Extensive experience with
design, analysis and simulation of algorithms using C and MATLAB are necessary
and experience with contributing to standards bodies is expected.In addition,
prior experience in UWB and prototyping and a good understanding of networking
protocols such as 802.11, 1394 and USB would be a big plus. Strong communications
skills and good team player are essential.
