Wireless MAC Software Engineer
The Wireless Connectivity Team is seeking several wireless MAC software
engineers to implement the IEEE 802.11/802.15 based MAC (Medium Access Control)
protocol for wireless home networking. The ideal candidate will implement
the MAC protocol for 802.11/15 based wireless networks. Implement QoS algorithms,
debugging, defining S/W, H/W interfaces and work closely with H/W engineers
to define H/W and S/W interfaces. The candidate should possess at minimum
a BSEE (or equivalent), preferably a MSEE, and at least three years relevant
experience in implementing IEEE 802.11/15 MAC protocols. The candidate should
have a strong understanding of wireless communications systems and protocols
such as 802.11/802.15/Bluetooth. Working experience with RTOS (Nucleus/ThreadX/VxWorks)
and strong skills in C/C++ programming, especially in an embedded environment,
are required. Prior experience in implementing 802.11/15 or HIPERLAN MAC
protocol and experience in brining up a system, MAC Controller, from scratch
would be a great asset. Also, the candidate should have that ability to design
and partition of H/W and S/W interfaces for MAC design. He/she should have
ability to work closely with H/W engineers. In addition, firmware development
for ARM/MIPS processor and/or device drivers in an embedded development is
highly required. Experience with video transport technologies, IEEE 1394 and/or
USB1.1/2.0 bus interface would be a plus. Strong communications skills and
good team player are essential.
