Wireless MAC Protocol Engr

The Wireless Connectivity Team is seeking a wireless MAC protocol engineer to conduct MAC protocol design, algorithm development and standardization of QoS technologies for wireless home networking. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and optimization of QoS algorithms for IEEE 802.11/15 family systems to support A/V streaming. Design, analysis and simulation of new MAC protocol for IEEE 802.11/15 families. Contribute to the MAC standardization activities and establish solid connection with leading companies in IEEE 802.11/15. And finally, prototyping. The candidate should possess at minimum a MSEE or Equivalent, preferably a PhD in wireless communicaitons, and at least three years of relevant experience in IEEE 802.11/5 standards. Strong understanding of wireless communications systems and protocols such as 802.11/802.15/Bluetooth. He/she should also possess a good understanding of QoS issues and their applicability to wireless home networks. Experience with analysis and simulation of protocols and algorithms using simulation tools such as OPNET are necessary and experience with contributing to standards bodies is expected. Very good C/C++ programming is must. In addition, experience with video transport technologies, TCP/IP protocols, IEEE 1394 and/or USB 1.1/2.0 bus interface, and prior experience with QoS implementation and prototyping would be a plus. Strong communications skills and good team player are essential.
